What to wear for your Outdoor Photo Shoot: Fashion Tips for the girls!
Hey there, lovely families of Somerset!
Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time to capture some amazing family moments.
I'm often asked by clients about what to wear for photo shoots, and I totally get it – choosing the right outfits can be tricky! To make things easier, I’m putting together a series of blog posts with ideas and color schemes to inspire you. When families take the time to consider their outfits, it really enhances the pictures from a photoshoot. Coordinated clothing makes everyone look great as a group and ensures that your family’s unique style and connection shine through. So, let's get started with what your girls could wear to look fabulous and feel great:
1. Think Light and Breezy
Summer means sunshine and warm weather, so go for light, airy fabrics like cotton, linen, and chiffon are perfect for keeping cool and looking fabulous. Sundresses, skirts, and flowy tops made of cotton or linen are perfect. They’re comfy, cute, and great for twirling around in!
2. Go for Soft, Neutral Colours
Soft hues like blush pink, baby blue, ivory, and light grey work wonders in summer photos. They complement the natural surroundings and ensure that everyone looks harmonious. Unless you’re plumping for a beach theme I would avoid bright, bold and neon colours that might distract from those beautiful smiles!
3. Keep It Simple and Sweet
You want to feel great in what you’re wearing. Simple classic outfits often look the best. Think of a pretty sundress, a cute top with shorts, or a lovely skirt. The simpler the outfit, the more it lets personality shine through.
4. Add a Dash of Accessories
A fun headband, a cute necklace, or some pretty bracelets can add a bit of sparkle to the outfit. Just remember, a little goes a long way – you want the accessories to enhance, not overpower.
5. Mix and Match for a Coordinated Look
It’s all about finding a colour palette that works well together rather than everyone wearing the same outfit. Try mixing and matching complementary colours and styles to create a cohesive look that isn’t too matchy-matchy. You don’t need to dress up for this, just lay the clothes out on the bed to find a colour palette that will work.
Remember, the goal is to capture your family’s love and connection. These tips will help you look and feel your best, so your smiles can shine through.
